When searching for a tutor to assist your child there are a few things to keep in mind. Here is a list of questions to go through before settling on the right person to help your child:

  • Do they show genuine warmth towards your child?
  • Is there mutual respect the tutor, your child and you?
  • Are they reliable?
  • Are they genuinely excited about teaching and learning?
  • Are they interest in making learning relevant and fun?
  • Do they have relevant professional experience?
  • Do they provide value for money?
  • Can they help your child develop the skills they need to be more successful at school?

I am happy to say I answer ‘yes’ to each of these questions.

I completed a Bachelor of Primary Education in 2005 before teaching across different primary school year levels for the next 8 years. While studying at university and since taking time out of the classroom to raise my son I have been tutoring.

I am passionate about teaching, learning and helping students find their confidence. I believe greater self-confidence can have a huge impact on educational outcomes. I like to make learning fun and relevant while using hands-on materials in order to improve retention of skills. I enjoy building strong working relationships with my students while also caring about them on a personal level.

In addition to student tutoring, I offer tutoring for parents. These sessions will assist you in helping your child as best as you can with their schoolwork.

I am available for tutoring at the following times:

Weekdays 2:30pm to 5:45pm

Weekends 9:00am to 10:30am

School Holidays 8:30am to 5:30pm

Teacher Outsourcing

Teachers have an amazing, influential role in the lives of their students. In order to give your best, you need to feel your best and that is hard to do when weighed down with excessive amounts of work.

One of the main challenges faced by teachers is a lack of time. Flying Sprout is dedicated to saving teachers time. Less time spent on undesirable, energy-sapping tasks means more time to focus on the needs of your students and do the things you want to do, free up your evening and reduce your stress levels.

Flying Sprout gives teachers the opportunity to outsource many non-teaching duties. These tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Proof reading and editing
  • Printing and laminating
  • Cutting and sorting
  • Reading and summarising
  • Sourcing Resources

Starting from only $35 per hour you can have a qualified and passionate teacher do some of your work for you.

Mentoring for Pre Service Teachers

Flying Sprout offers Pre-Service and Graduate Teacher mentoring. There is so much more involved as a teacher than simply ‘teaching.’ Planning, meetings, time management as well as relationships with colleagues and parents can all be challenging at times. Having a mentor who has worked in the school environment, understands the pressures and is willing to listen and offer advice without judgement can be a very valuable thing. Knowledge, advice and resources can be priceless but for a very reasonable hourly fee, you can receive all of those in the form of a mentor.

Please contact me via email:  to discuss any of these services in more detail.
